Certification & law

All our technicians are certified for the 3 Belgian regions. This offers you a guarantee of quality, moreover it is obligatory for at least your region. We provide you with all the necessary documents and store them for you.

New laws are in force. From 1 January 2010, the use of "virgin" R22 will be prohibited for the maintenance and repair of existing refrigeration and air conditioning installations. R22 which is recycled or reclaimed is allowed until the end of 2014 to fill these facilities.

The following refrigerants are part of the new European regulation concerning delivery and use
(You must understand: PROHIBITION).
Carveen have a sufficient quantity of R22 freons to repair your installations until 2014 or to replace them.
HCFKs: R22
HCFK blends: R408a(Fx10), R409(Fx56)

If you still have refrigeration systems that work with one of the refrigerants mentioned above, we recommend a modification. Today it is clear that the amounts recovered of R22 will not be sufficient to meet the needs. At the same time the cost price of regenerated R22T exceeds the limits. This is why a modification is beneficial because the price of this investment is nothing compared to the costs incurred by a leak. There are new refrigerants that guarantee optimal operation for many years.

Flemish government decree on common and sectoral articles on environmental protection
Carveen fills out and takes care of all of its new laws for you!

§ 2. Construction and arrangement of refrigeration installations

§ 6. Maximum des pertes de fuite relatives

1 ° The operator makes a certificate available to a supervising official, made by the manufacturer or by an ecologist who is recognized in the discipline of pressure devices and installations and / or in the discipline of carriers for gases or dangerous substances.

2 ° The necessary precautions are taken so that the leaking refrigerant can neither be interrupted nor pollute the environment in the event of a repair, a leak, an escape by a safety valve, etc. Refrigeration installations and accessories must be maintained in accordance with the code of good practice and they must be inspected / will be inspected regularly by a refrigeration technician depending on the instructions for use to limit potential leaks to a minimum. In the event of a leak, the necessary repairs must be carried out immediately and a new check on the degree of tightness must be carried out. The results of these expertises must be entered in a register which is available to the supervising official.

§ 6. Maximum relative leakage losses

1 ° All the measures which are feasible, according to the best available techniques, must be taken to limit the relative leakage loss as much as possible and in any case to a maximum of 5% per year.

2 ° If the relative loss is greater than 5% per year, the necessary measures must be taken as soon as possible within two weeks of the finding of the leak to find the latter and re-seal. New refrigerant can be refilled after repair and after checking for tightness by an authorized refrigeration technician. A new check of the degree of tightness must be carried out one month after the repair.

3 ° The manager of a refrigeration installation must have a log in relation to the installation which is in the vicinity of the refrigeration installation. This journal can also be partially or entirely made up of a computer file. This journal must contain the date and the mention:
          a) The date of commissioning of the refrigeration installation with the indication of the type of refrigerant and the nominal refrigerant content
          b) The type of inspection, maintenance, repair and installation work that has been carried out at a refrigeration plant
          c) All faults and alarms relating to the refrigeration installation which may give rise to leaks
          d) The quantity and kind (new, recycled or reclaimed) of refrigerant which has just been added to a refrigeration installation
          e) The amount of refrigerant that is charged with a refrigeration installation and the amount of refrigerant that is unloaded, with the date of the carrier and the destination of the latter
          f) A description and results of the tightness level checks
          g) The person who carried out the work and the observations mentioned under a) to f) and the name of the company where he works if necessary
          h) A certificate delivered by the person mentioned under g) in relation to the actions carried out by him if necessary
          i) Notable periods

4 ° To have control over the added and discharged refrigerants, the operator must have the following documents available to the supervising official:

    a) Invoices in relation to the quantities of refrigerants purchased
    b) The newspaper mentioned under 3 °
General: Compulsory control of the degree of tightness of the installations in accordance with the refrigerant content:
Carveen offers you maintenance contracts so that you are always in order
≥≥ 3kg annually
≥30 kg twice a year
≥ 300 kg 4 times a year

A leak test must be carried out, less than a month after the repair!

    - the obligation to have a leak detection system for applications with more than 300 kg
    - the obligation to maintain a newspaper from 3 kg
    - the obligation to work with certified people
    - the obligation to have labeling on all equipment with the mention that the installation "is part of Kyoto" (see labels)
    - the maximum leakage loss allowed is 5% (in Wallonia 10%, 5% after 28/09/2010)
    - maintenance in accordance with the code of good practice
